ASSAF COHEN
Assaf Cohen hails from the San Francisco Bay Area. His film credits include Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, Flightplan with Jodie Foster, Fast & Furious, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of Water and the Academy-Award winning West Bank Story. Television credits include a series regular role on the USA Network pilot Operating Instructions and recurring roles on Entourage, Weeds, 24, CSI and Half & Half. Additionally, he’s guest starred on dozens of shows such as This is Us, 9-1-1, Grey’s Anatomy, The Ranch, How to Get Away with Murder, MacGyver, Glee, Agents of SHIELD, NCIS, NCIS: LA and more.
Behind the mic, Assaf works extensively as a voice over performer. He is an Audie Nominated and Earphones Award winning narrator, who’s dozens of audiobook credits span a wide variety of genres. His voice can also be heard in major video games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Final Fantasy XV. On Netflix and Amazon, he can be heard as the English voice of “Berlin” on the international hit Money Heist / La Casa De Papel, as Noah on Dark, Eli on Fauda, and many other voices on titles such as Babylon Berlin, 4 Blocks, and When Heroes Fly.
At the award-winning South Coast Repertory, Assaf has performed in The Caucasian Chalk Circle opposite Tony Award winners Katrina Lenk and Frank Wood, in the World premiere of Making It and in the initial workshop reading of Pulitzer-winning Nilo Cruz’s The Beauty of the Father. Other regional theater credits include Macbeth and Tell the Tales of Shakespeare at San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Becket and Shorts Festival at Marin Theatre Company, A Question of Mercy at the Magic Theatre, The Man Who Came to Dinner at TheatreWorks, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew and Robin Hood at Marin Shakespeare Festival, Love’s Labours Lost and Man of La Mancha at PCPA Theaterfest, and the title role in Picasso at the Lapin Agile at Holmdel Theatre Festival in New Jersey.
Assaf recently owned and operated a self-tape studio in Santa Monica, where he helped tape hundreds of professional actors auditioning for features, television, commercials and theater. He is a graduate of the M.F.A. Acting program at Rutgers University where he studied under legendary Meisner instructors William Esper and Maggie Flanigan. He holds a B.A. in Integrative Biology from U.C. Berkeley, and served for seven years on the SAG and SAG-AFTRA National and local Boards of Directors, where he was a central figure in the historic merger of SAG and AFTRA. He serves on numerous union committees, including governance and communications.
